About Pfer.di

First of all, “Pfer.di” is a running gag based on a German wordplay. It’s a joke, and no one should take the whole thing seri-horse.

In Germany, where I live, we have a big and powerful union called “Ver.di”, short for “Vereinigte Dienstleister” or “United Service Companies”. The German word for horse is “Pferd”; “Pferdchen” and “Pferdi” are more like child speak for “horse”. That is how the rather silly idea of “Pfer.di”, The Pony Union, was born.

As I like things silly, I started making member IDs and invented a powerful pony union with slightly mafia-related structures and a highly corrupt Don-like boss (that’s me … I can be bribed ).

Sometimes things seem to take on a life of their own, so I want to clarify the original intention .

Pfer.di is and remains a joke. There is no deeper meaning, no membership fee, no official club, and certainly no exclusive club for fantasy horses. There is no website, not even this one (I am too lazy to make and maintain one). Anyone interested can ask for a card. Breeds needn’t even be real: rainbow-coloured unicorn hermaphrodites are welcome too.

Everyone is welcome to join a funny idea based on a wordplay that only works in German. And no one needs to join because it seems official. It isn’t … it stays fun :)

These days, the practical part happens here: you can make a card design, send it for administrator review, and keep using your existing member account.
